Grace Ethel Favaro, 98, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017 at Country Care in Othello Following over a decade-long battle with Alzheimer’s.
She leaves her husband of 62 years, Orland E. Favaro, her daughters Harriet Michael, Virginia Claxton, Renee’ Nearing, Debbie Brown and a son Orland C. Favaro along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Born in Sagle, Idaho in 1918, Grace was the baby of ten children. She moved to Clarkston Washington and met her future husband in 1945 at a pea factory. They were married January 29, 1955.
She worked as a hairdresser for most of her life. She and Orland moved to Othello in 1963 where she owned and operated by Favaro’s Beauty Salon until she could no longer function because of Alzheimer’s. She chose to have the salon in her home so she could be with her children and great-grandchildren.
She spent the last 13 years at Country Care under the loving care of Lupe and staff. Orland went to see her every day, twice a day since that time. Grace never met anyone that she didn’t like, she always had a kind word for and about everyone.
Mom never said a bad word, ever... She loved babies and had compassion and love for children and her family. We think she missed her calling which was children. She loved her husband and kids and devoted her life to their well-being. She was selfless and beautiful inside and out and is surely an angel in heaven and looking out for her family from there.
Rosary will be said at 3:30 on 2-11-17 at Stevens Funeral Home in Othello. A celebration of her life will be held at The Eagles in Othello on 3-4-17, at 2:00.
